Archiv communal Ilanz/Glion
The Bundsbrief (letter of alliance between the three leagues of Graubünden) of 23 September 1524 already states that archival records were to be preserved. However, there had already been an archive in the town of Ilanz at a much earlier time, as the old deeds, written on parchment, show. Later on, the trial records of the Gruob commune were also preserved in the town’s archive. Thus, a large number of valuable records, documents and photographs have accumulated over the course of roughly 700 years. As a result of the merging of the twelve surrounding municipalities with the town of Ilanz, the municipal archive of Ilanz/Glion now comprises fourteen "Fraktionsarchive" in addition to the main archive (since 2014): Castrisch, Duvin, the town of Ilanz, Ladir, Luven, Pigniu, Pitasch, Riein, Rueun, Ruschein, Schnaus, Sevgein, Siat and Strada i.O.
