The cultural archive of the geological hollow known as the 'Gruob', Rueun
The cultural archive of the geological hollow known as the Gruob, ‘Foppa e contuorn’ in Rhaeto-Romanic, Cultural Archive, was founded in 2016 in order to document and preserve the history of the "little people" for the sake of posterity. The archive collects cultural goods such as photographs, letters, drawings, pictures, writings, books, old documents, and more from the municipalities of Falera, Ilanz / Glion, Laax, Obersaxen, Mundaun, Sagogn, Schluein and the neighbouring communities of Waltensburg / Vuorz and Andiast. The cultural assets provide information on the earliest settlement of the Gruob, (bowl stones or cup-shaped engravings), sheds light on the ability to read in the Surselva, neighbourhood conflicts, and the economic importance of the city of Ilanz after the second World War.
