Bündner Kunstmuseum
Significant art collection and changing exhibitions
In addition to its historic Villa Planta, the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur has gained a striking new extension, designed by the Barcelona architect, Barozzi Veiga. It is a competence center for the arts of Grisons and one of the most important art museums in Switzerland, hosting exhibitions from its permanent collection and a programme of fascinating temporary shows. Its collection comprises more than 10'000 works from all visual arts genres, dating from the 18th century to the present day. Amongst the highlights are groups of works by, for instance, Angelika Kauffmann (1741 – 1807), the Giacometti family of artists, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938), and the Swiss Expressionists.
Truly a place to encounter the best in art, the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur offers a rich and varied programme with something for everyone to enjoy.
