Centro Giacometti Stampa
The centre dedicated to the Bregaglia-based artist family Giacometti
The Centro Giacometti is an information, documentation and cultural centre dedicated to the life and work of personalities from the Bregaglia-based Giacometti family of artists. The centre also organises exhibitions and guided hikes and develops themed trails. Outstanding artistic personalities in the Giacometti family include Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) and his uncle Augusto Giacometti (1877-1947). Even when these artists were living and working in Paris, for instance, they remained closely connected to their home region, the Val Bregaglia. The Centro Giacometti focuses in particular on this connection. The Centro Giacometti operates the Archivio Centro Giacometti. The purpose of this archive is to collect objects related to the family and the Val Bregaglia.
