Dokumentationsbibliothek St. Moritz
The public cultural and historical archive of St. Moritz
Just how St. Moritz developed from an erstwhile agricultural village into a modern tourist destination can be learned at the St. Moritz Documentation Library. The contents cover all aspects of the village history and the library team is delighted to assist visitors with their research at the reference library. Visitors could also find an online image database and book catalogue. The documentation library does not just contain books, but also plans and leaflets, newspapers and magazines, paintings, films and posters. Twice a year, the St Moritz Documentation Library organises an exhibition at the Design Gallery in Parkhaus Serletta featuring historic posters and photographs in backlit display cases. Apart from reference works and literature about St. Moritz, the St. Moritz Documentation Library also offers a large range of further media, such as posters, photos or videos. Of particular interest is the house in which the St. Moritz Documentation Library is situated: the old schoolhouse, built in 1886 by Nicolaus Hartmann sen. (1838-1903).
