The photographic memory of the Val Poschiavo

The association iSTORIA collects, documents and digitises historical photographs relating to the Val Poschiavo. The photographs come from various archives and can be viewed online on the association's website. iSTORIA attaches great importance to accurate documentation of the photos. The aim is to create as detailed a picture as possible of the past 150 years in the Val Poschiavo. The association regularly organises exhibitions, seminars and guided tours to draw attention to the photographic heritage and history of the valley located in southern Graubünden. The association has several archives at its disposal. In addition to the archive dedicated to the general history of the valley, these include a collection of school class photos, the archive of the collector Luigi Gisep and the Repower Archive. Some of the school class photographs date back as far as 1880. The focus of Luigi Gisep's private archive is on the period from 1880 to 1950. The focus of Luigi Gisep's privately created archive is on the period from 1880 to 1950. The Repower Archive documents the history of the energy supplier Repower, which was founded in 1904 under the name Forze Motrici Brusio.
