Lilly Keller Stiftung
An artist working between Berne, the world and Graubünden
The foundation Lilly Keller Stiftung is housed in the former stable building of the Thusis-based colonial goods trader Casparis. The artist Lilly Keller (1929-2018), who was born in Muri in the canton of Berne, inherited the house and grounds from her mother Paulina Casparis (1893-1979). Lilly Keller gradually converted the house into her part-time home/studio. In 2016, she moved from the canton of Vaud to Thusis. Lilly Keller bequeathed her property on Obere Stallstrasse with its enchanting garden designed by the artist as well as her entire oeuvre to the foundation in her will. The foundation’s purpose is, on the one hand, to preserve and promote the work of the bequeather. On the other hand, to shape the property as a lively place that is open to the public. Open for creative initiatives. The home/studio also serves as a workspace for guest artists for several months of the year.
