Mili Weber Museum
The fairy-tale house of St. Moritz
This erstwhile residence of Mili Weber (1891-1978) at the eastern end of St. Moritz lake is a work of art in itself. The brother of the painter planned and built it with his own hands and she went on to decorate it over a period of years. The main motifs are flower children embedded in magical landscapes. Apart from the wall and ceiling pictures, there are oil paintings and water colours, as well as the lavishly finished doll houses of the artist. In the staircase, works by Mili Weber’s half sister Anna Haller (1872-1924) are on display. Mili Weber gave this house to future generations with the wish “May this house be a delight to people”. That delight in the fabulous art of Mili Weber, as well as in the house itself, is communicated in a personal way in the course of guided tours. The magical aspects of this house appear both as well in its total appearance as in its individual contents: The rooms are decorated by Mili Weber in a fantastic way with frescoes, ceiling and wall pictures, for example with flower children. This fairy tale world is also enriched by objects such as doll houses. Flower pictures by Mili Weber’s half sister Anna Haller can also be seen.
