Varlin-Archiv Bondo

In 1963, after marrying Franca Giovanoli, the artist Varlin (Willy Guggenheim, *1900-†1977) moved to Bondo in the Val Bregaglia, having previously lived mostly in Paris and Zurich. His important late work was also created in Bondo. The Varlin Archiv administers his legacy, organises exhibitions and handles publications on his work. The archive has an extensive collection of documents, writings, publications and photographs, as well as numerous original works (paintings, drawings, prints). An exhibition room has been set up in his former studio, where alternating exhibitions of Varlin's works are displayed. The studio as well as parts of the dwelling house, where more of his works can be viewed, can be visited on request.
