Walservereinigung Graubünden

The Walservereinigung Graubünden (WVG) is a language and cultural association of Graubünden’s Walser people which is neutral regarding politics and religious denomination. It currently consists of over 2,000 individual members, Walsers and Walser friends from Switzerland and abroad as well as around 30 municipalities from Graubünden. Anyone who considers themselves part of the Walser community or is interested in the "subject of the Walser people" is welcome to join the WVG. The association’s board consists of representatives from the various Walser regions in Graubünden.

In the more than 60 years of its existence, the WVG has developed from a "Walser-German movement", whose primary concern was the preservation of the endangered Walser dialect, into a multi-faceted cultural organization of the Walser people of Graubünden. It is committed to the preservation of the Walser people’s tangible and intangible heritage assets (language, literature, legends, architecture, cultural landscape, customs, music) and also contributes to securing the livelihoods of people in the Walser regions with sustainable projects.
