Gläppe

These iron shoes were once used to shoe dairy cows in the Alps around Davos. I can still vividly remember the farrier going from alp to alp, nailing these “Gläppe” onto the cows' hooves. Even today, you can still find rusty old shoes that the animals shed during the summer up in the mountains.
