Curtanga (Scheffel)

Even after the establishment of the Free State, the people of Graubünden still had to pay feudal dues to their lords. These were often paid in kind, for example with a certain number of bushels of grain. In Lantsch, the inhabitants of the League of the House of God were able to buy their freedom from these obligations in 1548, while the subjects of the Austrians in the Zehngerichtebund managed to do so in 1652.
