Hiking Boots
When I arrived in Klosters in November 1959, there was half a meter of snow. I had never seen snow before and had no winter shoes – only my high heels. I didn’t know how I was going to make it from Bahnhofstrasse to the Hotel Chesa Grischuna. The next day, I had to buy shoes right away. But at that time, the only shoes available in Klosters were clunky mountain boots, like these. And before long, the mountains – with their clunky boots – became my home.
