“Graubünden Treasures” – Textiles & Jewelry
The Grey League probably gave today’s canton of Graubünden its name. In earlier times, the “common man” – that is, the ordinary members of the communes that made up the leagues – were known as “grey peasants” (die grauen Puren), because they wore simple grey woollen clothing. Textiles and jewellery, of course, still play an important role in Graubünden today.
