Bahnmuseum Albula
The musuem for the Graubünden World Heritage railway line
The Albula Railway Museum provides a multimedia experience of the legendary railway line between Thusis and Samedan, a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Rhaetian Railway in the Albula / Bernina Landscape”.
Over an area of 1,300 square meters, topics such as railways construction and operation are presented as an experience using interactive installations, sound rooms and simulators and a total of 600 genuine exhibits are on display. In the yard in front of the museum there is one of the last “Crocodile” locomotives still in existence, which is fitted with a driving simulator. The museum, opened in 2012 at the erstwhile arsenal by the Bergün station, also presents special exhibitions, for example about other spectacular railway lines
