Fotostiftung Graubünden

Graubünden's visual memory

The aim of the Fotostiftung Graubünden is to preserve photographic archives and collections of photographs from the Canton of Graubünden and to exhibit and publish their contents. The Foundation organises exhibitions and events in relation to photography and publishes on the subject. It thus provides wonderful glimpses of the collective, visual memory of the Canton and promotes information exchange and cooperation with the photographic sector and owners of photographic collections. The Fotostiftung Graubünden’s online image archive provides a link between collections of Bündner photography held locally, making their contents available to a wide public. The Fotostiftung Graubünden collects, preserves and digitalises visual, cultural artefacts that relate to the history and landscape of Graubünden. The Fotostiftung provides access to several digital image archives via its website, including, for instance, the work of the Flims photographer, Jules Geiger (1898 – 1987).
