Kulturarchiv Lumnezia
The Val Lumnezia’s historical cultural archive
Val Lumnezia photograph and chronicle collection The archive da cultura Lumnezia opened in 2018 and is located in the former Uors schoolhouse. Texts, images and oral documentations as well as individual objects of historical value and thematic reference to Lumnezia are collected, indexed and archived here. The archive library collects fiction and non-fiction materials from and across the valley, representing a large variety of fields such as archaeology, architecture, film and photography, history, art, literature, natural sciences and language. The new archive already has extensive legacies, such as a large photo documentation of Vignogn from the 1930s and 1940s or the notebooks of the village chronicler Alois Arpagaus (1920-1949) from Cumbel, who meticulously recorded, among other things, linguistic and cultural customs.
