Under the Spell of Light

Ever since she was a child, Haruka Fujita has been fascinated by light. In her vibrant and abstract works, entire worlds unfold in constant motion, creating a dialogue between art and science.

A similarly colour-rich energy also permeates the “MACCHIE” series of paintings by Hannes Gruber, an artist who had a close connection to the Val Bregaglia and attributed a unique light to the valley: in this painting, too, abstraction allows the eye to discern colourful microcosms, and the brushstrokes seem to evoke a dance of atoms and vividly coloured molecules.
